Well, many of you know the McGregor-Dorsey-Lee clan is going on an adventure. We are headed to Florida. After reading about newborns and DisneyWorld we figured out that the Magic Kingdom is the best place for us to hang and that babies are really good on rides. We are going to test that. Many suggested getting ear protection for babies as they can startle quite easily. Moxie is sporting some cool ear muffs:

She’s not 100% sure how she feels about them yet. Everyday we put them on her for a little longer. Pretty soon here she will be wearing them full time. Everyone better start learning sign language.

Dad’s Answer to Evening Fussiness

Every evening between 6 and 8 (isn) pm Moxie gets really grumpy. Almost nothing makes her happy–not food, not sleep, not anything. Well not anything except a dance party with her dad. Notice towards the end he uses his special move, “flying.” We thank Phil Collins for his part in this too.

No Sleep Till Brooklyn.

It is 4:20 am EST. Moxie is wide awake and bushy tailed. She’s been fed, she’s been changed, heck, she’s even puked. Now, the cherry on this sundae would be her sleeping. Nope! Moxie has more important things to do right now. She needs to look at her reflection in the window, kick her legs out of her swaddle, and stick her tongue out at her dad as he tries to rock her to sleep. She’s a cute sleeper. Maybe if she knew that she would do it right now…

Moxie is smiling more these days. She makes eye contact and coos and smiles when you respond. It is really sweet. She does all her laughing in her sleep still. She’s so cool she has inside jokes with herself. Punk.

Sayonara Sammer

Sigh. This has been a rough Sunday. We also said goodbye to Aunt Sam. Between school and work she didn’t get to stay as long as Grandparents Dorsey. But we appreciated they few days she could spare. We got a shiny floor, a brilliant meal of chicken chili, Pili in costume, an organized pantry, and lots of snuggles with Moxie. It was weird, though, Sam kept pinching Moxie to hear the pterodactyl sound babies make when upset…

Goodbye Grandparents!

Well, sadly, Grandma and Grandpa left yesterday. Team Dorsey really helped out with the Moxster. It took a village for most things to happen. This includes baths, diaper and outfit changes, and naps. Having an extra few sets of hands helped with just about everything. Ron and Carmen perfected the two-person diapering/clothes snapping. Seriously–they could take show on the road. We will miss the patient pacing, rocking, and patting of Grandma during Moxie’s grumpy evenings. For now we just leave her on the floor for Gyges to comfort.
