We took our first family vacation.  We went to celebrate the marriage of Dan and Nora at Disney World.  She also got to meet Grizzly and Melanie and, because of Hurricane Sandy, Aunt Catie and Uncle Reid.  Moxie, as a newborn, did a fair amount of sleeping.  Her parents, however, did not.

Moxie slept through the entire flight from DC to Orlando–save the 5 minutes of nursing and stretching mid-flight.

Moxie met and hung out with Jonathan and Melanie for the first time.  She slept for most of it but was awake enough to appreciate their willingness to do the Magic Kingdom on infant time.  She also really liked sleeping on Jonathan.

Dan and Nora’s wedding was really fun.  We had a great time and almost forgot that Moxie was in the hotel with her first ever babysitter: Eva.  It all went well and no one died.  Jess was only a little scarred.

Here’s our first family Disney photo.  You can see her little pink hatted head.   The little girl to the left is celebrating beating Moxie in arm wrestling.  A little tacky if you ask me.
Melanie and Jonathan bravely attempt keeping up with the Mox-ter.

Each Disney park has a Baby Care Center.  Changing tables, free snacks, a room to nurse, and a husband in Mickey ears caught on camera.

Our family doesn’t need the private nursing room in the Baby Care Center–we nurse on the go (and also in the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Carrousel of Progress, the Tiki Room, and Hall of Presidents)!
Note: this will be an embarrassing but useful factoid in Moxie’s future.

Moxie doesn’t care for Tomorrowland hotdogs.  She prefers the Mickey Pretzels.

Moxie doesn’t believe the hype for It’s A Small World.  She is reserving judgement and any energy expenditure.

Instead of nursing and sleeping (as she did on all the other rides) Moxie took in the sights and sounds of It’s a Small World from start to finish.  Her favorites included the pink haired Scandinavian kids and the belly dancing Asian-ish girls.

Waiting for the Hall of Presidents show Moxie took some time out of the sling stretch, fart, and attract the attention of grandparents from around the country.

Due to the invasive nature of the paparazzi at Disney World Strider and Moxie took some time as anonymous park goers on a bench in Frontier Land.

Inspired by Pirates, Jess tries on her new Moxie parrot doll while Strider looks on with some concern.

After a 2 hour detour (thanks to Jess’s expert map reading skills) we arrived at the Shaffer’s where Moxie got some lovin’ from Aunt Catie and we got deliciousness from Q-Shack.
