Moxie decided it was time to try out her seat. She’s just a little too young but can sit in it for a little bit before she slumps over. We plan on bedazzling it and adding wheels.

Folks, big doins today. Moxie spent her first half day at daycare. She goes to stay with a wonderful woman named Rita who lives about 4 blocks from our house. She has several other children: another infant named Vivian, two toddlers named Sydney and Natian, and then a few one dayers here and there.
She did fine, I think. Though, since she doesn’t know how to talk yet, I don’t really know her thoughts on the matter. She did consume 7 oz of breast milk from two different bottles in the mere 5 hours I was gone. Fairly certain she’s hitting the bottle to solve her troubles.
Here’s what she wore on her first day:
She came home in different clothes. I guess 10 minutes after I left Moxie pooped right through her cute little jeggings. Who hasn’t pooped through their jeggings?
Well, some people prefer their children play with organic wooden all natural toys. Others ban the television. Well, in our house, we start with the electronics early. Here’s a video of Strider and Moxie checking out an app that shows high contrast pictures paired with cheesy music. She enjoyed it but also really liked the sound of a plastic bottle crinkling. Strider’s narration is the best.
Sometimes in the mornings Strider and Moxie catch some ZZZs together. This time wasn’t super successful on the sleeping part but it sure was cute. (Clothing provided by Noa)
Here are a couple pictures we took today. Just so you can see how we look–just in case you forgot or didn’t look at any of the other posts, or don’t actually know us. You know, just in case.
Bibi and Babu worked really hard on house stuff but they also worked really hard on never letting Moxie miss a minute of their attention. Baby girl didn’t sleep in her bed once.
While Bibi and Babu visited this week instead of hanging out around town, eating out at fun places, and taking in the Washington sites: we put those folks to work. Turns out–if you want to hang with Moxie you have to pay the toll. We rearranged furniture in the living room and hung photos:

We FINALLY put together Moxie’s room. We originally intended to do a robot theme and have totally failed… but what came together looks pretty good.

Strider and I own a lot of art. About two thirds of our stuff remains in boxes. Luckily we could pick out the art boxes pretty easily We hung some on the wall (see above and below).

We hung shelves and put boxes in the guest bathroom. They will be filled with things. Strider can’t even think of all the fun stuff he will put in there.

We got a whole lot done. It feels good. We are all set for Moxie (at some point) to move into her room and get going on phase two: painting all the walls black, covering the windows, and opening our dream business–laser tag.
Moxie has slowly been making the rounds meeting our friends and scaring away our enemies. Turns out having a baby is a great way to blackmail people into meeting up. We have pulled this trick on several friends including Kelly, Mo, Mark, and Lauren.

This week Bibi is hanging out. She babysat Moxie for our first date in the Moxie Era (M.E.) and has been helping us get things a little settled now that we can tell our asses from our elbows (most days).

Moxie had her 8 week round of vaccinations. She got one in the mouth and two in each thigh. Poor thing. Mom cried about as much as Moxie did. We took some pictures to show how truly pissed Moxie was about the shots:
