This morning Keen needed some diaper free time and Moxie helped entertain her by singing. After the song Moxie said, “I’m a good helping big sister.” It was absolutely heart melting. I wonder how long she will like helping…

Moxie got an iBert bike seat from Bibi and Babu (at the suggestion of Kristin and Glenn). We had a fabulous time riding around the neighborhood. She doesn’t love her helmet yet but we are working on it.
At first she was just curious about what has happening. Then when she started to move she got a little nervous. Finally, after a few minutes and she got used to the wind in her face, she really started smiling. Now she wants to race the bigger kids on the block.
Here are two videos of Moxie crawling. It’s a whole new world folks. She can get anywhere! We have really had to up our game recently. No more hot glue guns, curling irons, or broken glass laying around anymore. The first video is her first time crawling. The second is more recent–she’s doing much better. She does an asymmetrical move that she learned from her friend at daycare. It’s weird but it gets her around the house and into trouble.
Strider has played “Where’s Moxie?” which is a modified peek-a-boo game a couple of times over the last month or so. On Friday daycare was closed so there was some major baby/dad hang out time. Strider was working on his computer when he heard Moxie doing something on the floor next to him. He looks down and she is playing PAB to get his attention. He caught it on camera:
Moxie and Strider were dueling during dinner. They are each trying to cast spells turning the other into a worm. Neither succeeded but it was fun to watch anyway.
Ok folks. We are showing two videos today. The first for normal fans and the second for the hardcore with just over 5 minutes to spend (waste) watching the Mox. It is really cute but you won’t get these 7 minutes back.
We went out to eat at Parkway Deli. We brought the lobster with us, some baby food consisting of rice and sweet potatoes, Alex Jr., and a bunny rattle Bibi brought from baby Jess days.
This second one documents Moxie’s first pickle. Grab a drink. You’re going to be here for a while.
Today while Bibi and I were making baby food (sweet potatoes and chicken) Moxie spent her time dragging Main (the straight shot between our dining room table and the windows in the living room). She did this while chewing on a carrot puree ice cube jammed inside a mesh bag. She got it everywhere and also had a super good time.
She had a great time and got carrot everywhere. |
Bibi is a speed cleaner. Moxie barely even noticed she was being de-carrotted. |
This morning we gave Moxie her first “solid” food. She had brown rice cereal (1 part ground brown rice, 1 part breast milk, 2 parts water). She used a bowl and spoon the Buller family gave her. Moxie was more interested in the spoon than the food actually. Bibi helped cook it, Babu took video, Strider acted as the high chair, and Moxie was, as always, the main event. She ended up with a nose full of food but it seemed like the whole experience wasn’t a total failure. She didn’t really *eat* the food but she certainly moved it around in her mouth for a while. We consider it a win.
