Last night we had dinner with Jacque, Doug, Hannah, Uncle Tony, Bibi, and Babu. It was great. Moxie was a little off her game and only mostly took in the evening from her mama’s lap. She did get some good time with folks and was really into a carrot.

The grown ups got to talk about Hannah’s good news: she has a bad ass fellowship at NIH and we solved all the problems of the US government. The food was fabulous and the company was wonderful.
AND right now I’m blogging this from bed because the grandparents are on Moxie duty 🙂

Doug!
Babu is unsure.

And, as a delightful treat: here’s a video of Moxie rocking the carrot.  The Mark-Tuckers suggested the carrot as a good option for relieving teething pain.  They are brilliant.  It also works as a sword or a lightsaber.  Watch out pirates and jedi.

Hey Suckas!  Can you guys believe you are about to read your 100th post about a stinky baby named Moxie Eleanor Dorsey-Lee?  Well you are.  Yep. You are doing it right now.

In honor of your obsession with our kid we are going to give you not one but two, yep TWO videos of this little one doing her new favorite thing: talking.

Seriously, you guys are suckers.  But we love you and are so thankful we get to share our Moxie adventures with you.

It is Monday and we are spending an evening hanging out after being separated all day.  Moxie and Strider decided to have some super fun play time and here’s how it went:

And then, after dancing and playing guitar they wrapped up the night with some air drumming.  (please ignore that this video is sideways.  If anyone can tell me how to fix it–I’ll do it.)

It is a typical Sunday evening here at the Dorsey-Lee house.  Strider is installing baby gates, I am figuring out food for the week, and Moxie is working on her motor skills.  Of course, Moxie is far more interesting than our chores so we took a break to take pictures and enjoy watching her learn new skills.

You’ll see here in this movie clip that she is really trying to grab them.  You can see the gears working in her tiny baby brain.  Oh, we are so proud.

Moxie is becoming a talker.  More an “ooher” I guess.  She makes sounds in response to our voices or when she is trying to get our attention.  She also makes sounds at the toys on her play mat and her butterfly mobile.  Come to think of it, she makes it all the time.  It is all rather indiscreet.

Well, some people prefer their children play with organic wooden all natural toys.  Others ban the television.  Well, in our house, we start with the electronics early.  Here’s a video of Strider and Moxie checking out an app that shows high contrast pictures paired with cheesy music.  She enjoyed it but also really liked the sound of a plastic bottle crinkling.  Strider’s narration is the best.
